The 2007 Officers of the “Shoot for the Cross” clay shoot are proud to announce that we are holding our 1^st annual tournament on Saturday, February 9^th, 2008. The event will be held at The Wilderness Gun Club Facility located on Teurlings Dr. in Lafayette, La.

64 teams filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Entry fee will be $750.00 per 5-man team. Each Shooter will only be allowed one shooting in main event. Proceeds will fund the historical restoration of the Episcopal Church of Epiphany in New Iberia, La. main Street. Enclosed are the necessary forms for the tournament. ( Individual shooters are allowed ) Confirmation letters with directions will be sent to team captains.

Registration will begin on November 26^th on-line at www.ShootForTheCross.com . You must be pre-registered by Friday, February 8^th, 2007. Shooters should be ready 1 hr prior to flight time scheduled. Safety briefing 30 minutes prior to start. AM shoot will begin at 7:30am sharp. PM shoot  will  approximately start at 12:00 noon.

Included in the main entry will be the challenge of a (100) bird sporting clay course, food and refreshments. Shooters must provide their own shells ( 2-3/4” – 7-1/2” – 8” or 9” only. Max of 3 ¼  drams equivalent. 1 1/8 oz shot) for all events.

A practice sporting clays course and 5-Stand will be open Friday till 4:00pm only. Competition side events will be held with awards. Sponsors will determine tiebreaker, (ie, shoot-off or tiebreakers)

No ATV 4-wheelers will be allowed other than gun club managers. Golf carts, mules, etc are allowed. Rental carts will be available, so make your own arrangements. Course is within walking distance and very user friendly.

There will be one door-prize drawing for each team immediately following each round. Shooters must be present to win. Several other shotguns will be raffled. Awards will be given immediately following the flight competition. Team awards will be presented after completion of flight for first, second, and third places for A,B,C, and D category, as determined by the Lewis Class Scoring System. Ties will be settled by a score card shoot-off. The HOA teams will receive individual plaques. HOA team will receive the “SHOOT FOR THE CROSS” award.
